The beauty of the Cape Verdean Creole people is now proudly asserting itself on the world stage. Prissy Gomes will carry the country's colors at the most important beauty pageant.

Mindelact Aurora Edition: "Lighthouse and Refuge" Culture
The Aurora Edition of Mindelact , the Mindelo International Theatre Festival in Cape Verde, has begun. The event (31st edition) is a symbol of rebirth and a cultural beacon. In this year of celebrating 50 years of independence , the Festival hosts theatre performances until November 8th with artists from Cape Verde, Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Canada, and other countries.
Sete Sóis Sete Luas Festival 2025: a cultural bridge

The Sete Sóis Sete Luas Festival 2025 In Cape Verde! Between October and November, the islands of Fogo, Brava, Maio, Santo Antão, and Santiago celebrate the 33rd edition of this cultural bridge, featuring art installations and live concerts with artists from Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Cape Verde. The Sete Sóis Sete Luas Festival was launched in 1993 and is now a project promoted by a cultural network of 30 cities in 9 different countries: Cape Verde, Croatia, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, and Tunisia.

Boa Vista: The First IKO-Certified Female Kitesurfing Instructors
Boa Vista is making history! The island has certified 16 new instructors and the first two female kitesurf instructors in Cape Verde with international IKO recognition . Zaya Gui and Jó Santos are pioneers promoting female inclusion in water sports and the Blue Economy.

Culture: "Sofisma Loucura" book launch in Boa Vista
Valdevino Bronze 's poetry book "Sofisma Loucura" will be launched in Boa Vista . The work, awarded by Soca Magazine 2023, was presented on November 5th at the Arts and Culture Centre (CAC) in Sal Rei, celebrating Cape Verdean literature .
Environment: specialized training for cetacean rescue
In Boa Vista , the Tartaruga Foundation has launched a specialized training course to improve the response to cetacean (whale and dolphin) strandings. The initiative involves 36 operators to strengthen local capacities, equip the island with specific equipment , and ensure the protection of marine biodiversity , given the high incidence of strandings on the island.
Sal Island: "One Woman, One Tree" Campaign
On Ilha do Sal , the municipal administration has launched the "one woman, one tree" reforestation campaign . The initiative aims to increase green areas and highlight the crucial role of women in a healthy future. The event combines sustainability and female empowerment .
